The Bed in the Parlor ~ De Locht

Picture of the bed in the parlor taken at the De Locht Museum in Melderslo, Limburg, Netherlands.
Picture of the bed in the parlor wall taken at the De Locht Museum in Melderslo, Limburg, Netherlands. You can see a bed for two persons built into the wall. It's a very small bed, you can't believe that two people could sleep there. In the olden days people were not as tall as they are now. The mattress is made of straw. In the family pictures on the wall you can see a typical Limburgishe woman's hat. It is called a "Toer".
